FAQ - AVM Wedding Videographers

How much will it cost?

See our packages section for more information. As well as filming and editing your wedding DVD, our prices include all meetings before the big day, music licences to cover the copyright of any music of your choice and travelling within Kent. Some churches may charge you a nominal fee to allow the use of video recording equipment inside the church.

Do you require a deposit to secure the date?

Yes, we require a £200 deposit to secure the date and the balance to be paid at least 14 days before the wedding.

How far in advance should I book?

Bookings are being taken up to 2 years in advance, although should you wish to book further ahead, let us know and we will contact you nearer the time to confirm your booking. Book early to avoid disappointment.

What area do you cover?

We can travel anywhere in the UK, but there may be travelling expenses to pay for Weddings outside of Kent.

Can you stay to the end of the day?

Yes, we can. See our packages section for pricing information.

Do you limit the time you will be filming for?

We don’t want to put any pressure on you to have certain parts of your day finished by a particular time, so are quite flexible about the length of time we are filming for. However if it is expected that your first dance will run on much after 8.30pm we recommend choosing our optional extra evening package. We offer the option for you to request us to stay later on the day of your wedding if the events are running late. We will discuss this with you beforehand to tailor a package that’s right for you.

What video equipment do you use?

We use two professional digital video cameras to film your day, a Canon XL2 and a Canon XM2, as well as top quality Sennheiser sound recording equipment.

Do you subcontract work out to anyone else?

No. We have very high standards for our work and as such, never subcontract our work out to anyone else. We will personally see to it that your video is filmed and edited by us, to our standards. Should you find we are already booked on the day of your wedding, we may be able to recommend a videographer with similarly high standards to our own.

Can I choose the music?

You can choose the music that your video is edited to, but we are also there to advise you on your choices, should you need it.

How soon after the wedding will the video be ready?

We aim to have your fully edited DVD finished within a month of your wedding.

How long do you keep the master tape for further copies?

We keep your master DVD indefinately.

Who owns the copyright to the video?

AVM owns the copyright to sound and images and further copies of your wedding video are only available from us. You are not permitted to make duplications of the finished DVD. Prices for copies of your finished DVD are available in our packages section.

What do I do next?

Contact us so that we can meet you to discuss your requirements. It is good chance for you to tell us any special requests and music choices, as well as view some of our recent work. As we don’t charge for meetings, depending on the distance, we may ask to meet you part way between your home and our office.
